The communities of Cedar Falls-Waterloo, Grundy Center, Independence, New Hampton, Shell Rock, and Waverly have had a Laborshed study completed. The results can be found on the LMI Laborshed page (www.iowalmi.gov/laborshed).
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2.4 percent in April. The state’s jobless rate was 2.6 percent one year ago. The U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 percent in April.
The fourth quarter 2018 Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) data has been released. This data is a census of jobs covered by unemployment insurance and is available for Iowa and the 99 counties by sector and subsector. The available data now covers the first quarter of 2011 through the fourth quarter of 2018.
